Meet Dr. Whitney Fandel, DC, DICCP
Dr. Whitney Fandel was born and raised in Princeton, Illinois. She completed her undergraduate studies at Illinois State University, earning a degree in Biological Sciences, before moving to Davenport, Iowa to attend Palmer College of Chiropractic. Dr. Whitney graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2011 and went on to work as an associate chiropractor in Iowa while completing her post-doctorate education.
In 2014, Dr. Whitney earned her Diplomate in Clinical Chiropractic Pediatrics (DICCP), becoming board certified in pediatric and pregnancy chiropractic care. The following year, in 2015, she proudly opened the doors to Family Tree Chiropractic in Park Ridge, Illinois.
After working in two previous clinics as an associate doctor, Dr. Whitney knew she wanted to create something different. She envisioned a practice that felt warm, inviting, and family-centered, where patients felt genuinely loved, respected, and supported at every visit. Together with her incredible team, Dr. Whitney works daily to create an experience unlike any other—one where patients are welcomed with a smile, feel a sense of ease the moment they walk through the doors, and receive care rooted in trust, knowledge, hope for healing, and world-class service.
Dr. Whitney credits much of her journey to the unwavering support of her best friend and husband, Dr. “O” Olatunji (yes—he’s also a chiropractor!). Together, they are proud parents to their son, Mathias, and their daughter, Mahari. Outside of the office, they enjoy traveling and making meaningful memories as a family.
Dr. Whitney looks forward to serving you and your family on your healing journey.

Front - Chiropractic Assistant
Hi, I'm Tyana! I was born in Evanston, Illinois but spent most of my childhood in Belize City, Belize. My family & I moved back to Evanston in 2007 where I would then spend the rest of my childhood & teenage years growing up.
I was very privileged to have attended & graduated from Evanston Township Highschool in 2018, one of the Top High Schools in the Nation.
After High School I attended Western Illinois University for about 2 years where I was studying Social Work. During those 2 years school started to feel overwhelming for me & I decided to take a break for my own well-being. I started to work a few odd jobs to keep myself busy, but I was struggling to find a position where I was genuinely happy with working.
After exploring more options & looking for a position that could open doors for me I came across the Chiropractic Assistant position at Family Tree Chiropractic. I had no background knowledge about chiropractic or what chiropractors do besides crack peoples back, (now I know it's so much more than that and that!) but I interviewed for the opening & was blessed by Dr. Whitney offering me the position!
I was so happy to know that Dr. Whitney took a chance on me & offered me a title that Im so grateful to have. I am forever honored to have been picked to be apart of a great, hardworking team! It feels good to be a part of helping others feel great!

Welcome! I’m Francis.
I was born and raised in Chicago. I’m happily married with two amazing kids! I’m a proud graduate of Roberto Clemente High School where I learned to be compassionate and humble.
Prior to joining Family Tree, I worked as a Recreation Leader for the Chicago Park District. I also worked in sales for many years. I love being in an industry where I can connect with people and provide excellent service.
I’m blessed to work alongside two amazing women who absolutely love doing what they do. It’s an overwhelming feeling of pure love and happiness to be a part of our patients healing journey and improve their quality of life.
Being a mom, I know the importance of keeping the family happy, healthy and safe. I recommend everyone bring their family to see Dr. Whitney. We help change peoples lives!
What to Expect at Your Visit
At Family Tree Chiropractic, we believe patients feel most empowered when they understand their care. Here’s what you can expect during your journey with Dr. Whitney Fandel.
1. Consultation
Your visit begins with a one-on-one consultation with Dr. Whitney. This is a time to discuss your health concerns, goals, and the reason for your visit. If Dr. Whitney determines that chiropractic care is appropriate for your case, you’ll have the option to proceed with the recommended examination and diagnostic testing.
✔️ All costs are clearly explained before moving forward.
2. Comprehensive Chiropractic Examination
Following your consultation, a complete and thorough chiropractic examination is performed to better understand how your spine and nervous system are functioning.
3. X-Rays (If Needed)
In some cases, spinal X-rays are recommended to help create the safest and most effective care plan. X-rays allow us to:
See the position and alignment of spinal bones
Evaluate spinal health and safety for adjustments
Understand how long a condition may have been developing
4. CLA Insight™ Nervous System Technology
We use NASA-certified CLA Insight Technology to assess the health and function of your central nervous system. These scans identify patterns of neurological stress your body has adapted to over time—often before symptoms appear.
This advanced technology allows us to:
Locate the source of neurological stress
Deliver highly specific, scientific chiropractic care
Track measurable improvements in nervous system function over time
Thermal Scan
A rolling thermal scanner uses infrared sensors to measure temperature patterns along both sides of your spine.
Research shows that healthy nervous systems produce symmetrical spinal temperature patterns. Differences between the left and right sides may indicate:
Nervous system stress
Inflammation
Vertebral subluxation
This helps us identify which areas of the nervous system may be under stress and which organs could be affected.
Surface Electromyography (sEMG)
Surface EMG evaluates the function of your motor nerves by measuring electrical activity in the muscles that support posture. This tells us:
How efficiently your nervous system is working
Whether muscles are overworking, weak, or fatigued
If postural imbalances are present due to spinal misalignments
Heart Rate Variability (HRV)
HRV measures the adaptability of your autonomic nervous system, not the heart muscle itself. A higher HRV indicates better resilience and adaptability to stress.
HRV scanning allows us to:
Establish a baseline for nervous system health
Track progress objectively over time
Understand how well your body responds to physical, emotional, and environmental stressors
5. Report of Findings
Your Report of Findings is scheduled for a follow-up visit, allowing Dr. Whitney time to thoroughly review your results. During this visit:
Findings are explained clearly and thoroughly
A personalized care plan is presented
You’ll learn what’s happening, what needs to be done, and how long improvement may take
Family members are welcome to attend if you wish.
6. Ongoing Care
Adjustments are always performed by Dr. Whitney. Any additional therapies or recommendations during your visits will be based on your individualized care plan and progress.
CLA Insight™ Technology FAQs
Why should I (or my child) have a nervous system scan?
These scans detect abnormal nervous system function that X-rays cannot identify. They show how neurological stress (subluxation) is impacting organs, muscles, glands, and overall energy levels.
How will I benefit?
The scans give us a whole-body perspective, allowing us to see how well your nervous system is adapting to physical, chemical, and emotional stressors—helping us tailor care more precisely.
Does the scan hurt? Is it safe?
Not at all. The scans are gentle, radiation-free, and completely safe for pregnant women, children, and infants.

At Family Tree Chiropractic, we strive to make high-quality chiropractic care accessible and affordable for individuals and families.
We are in-network with BCBS PPO and Medicare Part B, and we frequently work with United and Aetna plans on an out-of-network basis.
We believe deeply in the value of wellness care and have created a pricing structure designed to fit a variety of budgets. For patients with limited or no chiropractic insurance coverage, flexible payment options are available.
If you do not have insurance—or if your plan does not include chiropractic benefits—care is still very attainable. Many of our patients choose to pay directly for services and find chiropractic care to be both affordable and highly cost-effective.
Please note: Insurance benefits may only be applied when care meets the medical necessity criteria outlined by your specific insurance plan and policy.

*Please Note: Insurance can only be used if it meets the Medical Necessity criteria laid out by your specific plan and policy.
